It's give me a long lasting burst of energy that I would if I drank a gallon of coffee. The best thing is that I'm not crashing from the buzz. I drink it before my workout and i seem to get more out of my routines and repetitions. It's not a hype it really works. It's taste is better and more superior than red bull, monster and anything that I have come across. I like it when I'm sitting infront of my computer at work because it keep me focused and alert. While people at work are dragging to get to coffee station to get their jolt of java i'm bouncing to the frig to get my EMV on. It's a big difference and better tasting, and no after coffee breath. People at work always wonder where i get the energy I lie and say it's from their smiling faces, when it's really the Emv. Usually citrus flavors are god-awful when sugar free; but this one somehow pulled it together. Leave it to a generic department store house brand to finally figure out how to make a sugar free citrus drink not taste like paint thinner. It tastes like paint thinner. Terrible taste; and the trademark ABB vitamin crunch is HIDEOUS when combined with the terrible lemon-lime taste of this drink. Although the flavor is ambiguous (the entire time I was drinking it, I was under the impression that it was raspberry), it was quite tasty. The only downside is the slight vitamin aftertaste; which is forgiveable due to the pure power they pack into these drinks.     5-Hour Energy > Extra Strength beautifuldeath August 18, 2009 Yep, It's 5 Hour Energy 5 Hour Energy, being one of the first energy shots to truly become ubiquitous, is the one all others following are compared to. That being said, it is quite generic. The so-called "extra strength" forumla is not that different than the original; with only a slight change in the blend, and not even increased caffeine levels. The flavor, like the original, is a mediocre berry with a throat-attacking vitamin crunch at the end. I only tried a small sip of this so I don't know what the effects of a full bottle of this drink would be but historically I have heard repeatedly of people having adverse effects to this drink. But this is by design since this drink is for the purpose of loosing weight and probably for use in a gym as well. Read the label and drink with caution. Considering that energy shots have a flavor scale from Awful to Not Bad, I gave this one 4 stars. OK. I lightly shook the can, gently opened it and poured it over the ice. A frothy, magenta liquid filled the vessel with a slight head. I sipped it before the foam settled and was pleasantly surprised by its refreshing scent and subtle, quenching flavor. Mainly pomegranate, I didn't taste much tea. This flavor is actually of the lite variety, which means fake sugar and an aftertaste (lost a star). Especially after a month of drinking only those 2 drinks exclusively, SF Max Velocity starts to pull ahead in the taste department. Much less of a medicinal taste than Red Bull. And after calling the company that makes them, I learned that there are 114mg caffeine per 12oz, meaning one of the 8.45oz cans has 80mg of caffeine, same as the small red bulls. Afterwards, it almost gets hard to drink because the flavor is veryy strong, almost medicinal if you will. Aside from that, it actually tastes pretty good and kicks like an energy drink should. My first thought: "Wusses!" I decided to try for myself. Bad idea. I wouldn't drink this on a hot day. It was pretty cold yesterday and I was still burning up. It makes your whole body warm like an overdose of Viagra or Amyl Nitrite. This was the most miserable part of the experience for me. The shakes are no worse than what you get with a half dozen shots of espresso. You're shaking, but you can control it. The nausea, however, takes a bit of mental discipline. If you're not careful, I'm pretty confident that you could end up on your knees ralphing. There was some slightly blurry vision and tracers. It was not pleasent nor was it uncomfortable. Driving in this state of mind seems profoundly unwise. Distance, among other things, was distorted. As if drunk, things just "appeared" in front of my vehicle. In all, I'd say Redline is disorienting and nauseating. At best, this stuff is a practical joke. It says to only drink half a bottle to start. I did that, waited a few hours and didn't feel anything, so I drank the rest of it. NRG factor was average, it's only a 12fl. oz. beverage so for the weak they may get a buzzzzz, for the mighty like myself.. I'll take two more! Overall I found the first of four Xtazy beverages to be quite average. The ingredients of these beverages contain both artificial and natural ingredients. The artificial ingredients of course are your processed sugars, coloring and who knows what else. I liked the quality of many of the supplements they did add in this drink. Ginko Biloba, L-Carnitine, Taurine, Ginseng and Milk Thistle as well as many of the B-Complex vitamins. Updated: I am back, I have to add to this review, later on after drinking this beverage and a couple more of the same brand/family, I have to update the NRG factor for these beverages. I'm giving the NRG factor a higher rating now, upon drinking these beverages, I was unable to fall asleep until about 3:00AM in the morning. Something that I seldom experience. The drink has a very common "Diet" NRG beverage taste. I was not wowed by this beverage in anyway but the NRG Factor is decent for this beverage. The beverage has a respectable list of the good ingredients as well as an equal amount of the bad artificial ingredients as well. Their are to many to list so if you are curious go ahead and check out the ingredients when you see the beverage. Maybe just because I was not impressed with the "Sugar Free" I am only going to give this a two star rating, but I have an impulse to give it three stars stating it is an "average" NRG drink. The NRG Factor is better than anything I have had recently and purely on that, it should be a three star drink. It has a taste that is fairly common amongst many NRG beverages, I can not place an association to a particular beverage but it strongly reminds me of beverages I have had before. But so does "real" green tea. The green tea that has a little grit in it. And real green tea is bitter. This has a touch of bitterness, and the subtle fruity lime is remarkably refreshing. For a zero carb beverage, this one is pretty decent; I would not give up my Monster Lo-Carb for this beverage. If you prefer a berry flavored beverage over a traditionally flavored NRG drink then this is the drink for you. It has a new and original flavor; this beverage will surely be one of my most consumed NRG drinks from this point forward. I totally recommend to everyone to give this beverage a try, it may not be everyones new NRG beverage of choice but I am sure you will like it. Great taste, original flavor, quality beverage. But I had to try it being since I woke up this morning with a massive hangover from a BBQ yesterday. I give it credit that it does seem to help ward off a hangover, not entirely but it seems to help somewhat. Would I recommend this beverage? Only for its hangover relieving properties.
